Woman Cashed Four Checks on $2.50 Deposit, Police Say

Creve Coeur Police said the woman also altered the checks, scratching off account numbers.

The following information was supplied by court documents. It does not indicate a conviction where an arrest was made.

A woman who opened a checking account with a $2.50 deposit wrote and cashed four checks on the account in Creve Coeur after altering the account numbers.

Rockia Hickman, of the 1400 block of Goodfellow Boulevard in St. Louis, was charged Jan. 17 with four counts of forgery.

Creve Coeur Police said Hickman scratched off account numbers with a razor and an eraser, and used the checks for small purchases and to get $100 back at four Schnucks stores on March 12.

Police said she cashed the checks at two Schnucks stores in Creve Coeur, one in Chesterfield and another in Maryland Heights.

Bail was set at $10,000 for Hickman.
