Belleville Man Charged With Statutory Rape of 13-Year-Old from St. Louis County

A Belleville, IL, man faces several criminal charges after St. Louis County Police said he arranged meetings via text, and had sex with a 13-year-old in St. Louis County. Police have not revealed the residency of the teenager.

Jason M. Monroe, 32 of Belleville, IL, was Tuesday with three counts of first-degree statutory rape, attempted enticement of a child, and misrepresenting his age to solicit a minor for sexual misconduct.

said Monroe met with the 13-year-old three times in July and had sex with the 13-year-old. According to the report, Monroe texted the child on Aug. 6, stating they would “do the same stuff we did last time.”

Police are not disclosing the exact location in St. Louis County where the alleged crimes took place.

Police said the two exchanged text messages over a three-month period, and Monroe told the victim he was 23 years old when he actually was 32.

Bond for Monroe was set at $300,000.
