Eureka High Sophomore Finishes Second at Great American Cross Country Festival

And track season isn't over yet.

Eureka High School sophomore Hannah Long finished second at the Great American Cross Country Festival in North Carolina on Sept. 29.Β 

In a race against some of the top female athletes in the country, Long completed a 5K run with a time of 17 minutes and 30 seconds.Β 

Eureka coach Kally Fischer described Long in a Rockwood School District announcement as an amazing young athlete who is dedicated to her sport.Β  β€œHannah represents what a student-athlete should be in our sport. She is committed to herself and her teammates,” said Fischer.Β

β€œNot only is she well-rounded and academically sound, but she has a passion for being the best she can be.”

In November, Long will compete at the Missouri State Meet, as well as the Footlocker Regionals. β€œWe’ve worked hard to prepare this season and we’re excited for Eureka to compete in these upcoming meets,” said Fischer.
