Spring Storm Scares Eureka, Wildwood Area

A severe storm moved through the Eureka and WildwoodΒ area early this evening, spawning tornado warnings and reports of possibleΒ touchdowns.

A massive stormfront could be seen moving above Eureka around 8:18 p.m., but the areaΒ avoided the brunt of the storm, with the morning bringingΒ reports of damaged homes, including missing roofs, downed trees and power outages in St. Charles.Β Β There were no immediate reports of injuries.Β 

The storm also dumped plenty of rain, so drivers can expect to encounter flooded roads withΒ a flash flood warning for the areaΒ until early Saturday morningΒ issued by the National Weather Service.Β

A severe storm is moving through the Eureka and WildwoodΒ area. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for St. Louis County until 8:45 p.m.

A massive stormfront could be seen moving above Eureka around 8:18 p.m. and there were reports from local media of funnel clouds near Wentzville, along with a report of a touchdown in Weldon springs.Β 

The National Weather Service is now saying that aΒ "large and extremely dangerous tornado on the ground near St. Charles."
