First-Ever Youth Football League to be Hosted in Chesterfield

Registration is being held now until Feb. 22. Volunteer coaches also are needed.

The following information was provided by Chesterfield city managers.Β 

Chesterfield representatives, in partnership with NFL Flag representatives, will host the first-everΒ Chesterfield Parks and Recreation Youth Flag Football League at the ChesterfieldΒ Valley Athletic Complex this spring.

This program is for kids ages 5-12, and leagues willΒ be divided by age and gender. Practices will begin the week of March 10, and gamesΒ will start the first weekend of April. All games will be played on Saturdays; rainouts willΒ be played on Sundays.

This is a recreational league designed to enable every child to play,Β regardless of skill. The goal is for all participants to have fun and learn the game of football.Β Emphasis will be made on team play, cooperation, goodΒ sportsmanship, courtesy,Β respect to all players, coaches, officials, coordinators, and parents, according to the city's materials.Β
