Flag Ceremony to Honor Area's Veterans Monday

Eureka VFW Post 5468 will hold the memorial service for the area's deceased soldiers at the city's community center.

Members of Eureka VFW Post 5468 willΒ hold a flag ceremony with a color guard and a dedication to all deceased veterans in the area on Monday, starting at 10 a.m. at theΒ Eureka Community Center.

The ceremony in honor of Memorial Day will include the reading of names of soldiers from the area who have died, including members of the VFW, American Legion and others.

Wreaths will also be placed at the memorial plaque erected in Legion Park. Guest speakers will include State Rep. Timothy Jones and Eureka Mayor Kevin Coffey.Β

The public is invited to attend and light refreshments will be served inside the community center following the ceremony.Β
