January Library Programs Announced for Eureka Hills Branch

Adults, teens and children have several activity options during January at the Eureka Hills Branch, 156 Eureka Towne Center.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS:

Thursday, Jan. 3, 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Story Time: Perky Penguins

The colder it gets outside, the better the perky penguins like it! Join us for stories about these funny birds who love the ice and snow. Stories and activities are recommended for ages 3–6, but all are welcome.

Monday, Jan. 7, 6:30 p.m.

Evening Story Time

Wear your pajamas, bring a stuffed friend, and join us for an evening story time. Recommended for ages 3–6, but all are welcome.

Thursday, Jan. 10, 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Story Time: Frosty the Snowman and Friends

Have you ever made a snowman? Join us as we read about the most famous snowman of all! Stories and activities are recommended for ages 3–6, but all are welcome.

Saturday, Jan. 12, 2 p.m.

Origami Art

Join us for a fun–filled hour of origami, the fascinating and creative art of paper–folding.We’ll provide examples, and all the supplies, and give you step–by–step instructions. Ages 5–11. Registration required.

Story Time: Bow Wow Stories

Art @ Your Library: Run Away with the Circus

Ever feel like you have a three ring circus in your own home? Bring your little monkey sout to enjoy this interactive circus experience. There will be juggling and circus activities, a high-energy interactive reading of Dr. Seuss’ book, “If I Ran the Circus,” and a memorable performance by a real–life professional circus performer. Presented by Day Spring School of the Arts. Ages 4–7. Registration required.

Teen Gaming Night

Relax from the holidays with an evening of socializing and playing games. Try some exciting games on our Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 Kinect systems, or play one of our traditional board games. Bring a friend and meet some new ones. We will talk briefly about some new teen books while we enjoy pizza and beverages. Ages 12–17. Registration required.

eMedia: Getting Started

Did you get a new eReader or tablet for the holidays? Find out how to download freee Books and eAudiobooks from the St. Louis County Library’s eMedia collection. Bring your new device, as well as your library card number and PIN, and specially trained Library staff will walk you through the process. Registration is required. Kindle and Kindle app users: please bring your Amazon account ID and password. Non–tablet users (i.e. Nook Simple Touch): if you have a laptop, bring it with you to get the most from the session.
