MoDOT Set to Begin Major Work on Route 109 July 15

A major road project in the Eureka-Wildwood area is to start July 15.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close oneΒ lane at night on Route 109 between I-44 and Route 100 until the fallΒ starting the week ofΒ July 15. MoDOT crews will be doingΒ paving work on multiple intersections betweenΒ 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting.

With one lane closed for the entire duration of the project, MoDOT will be escorting traffic through the area with a pilot car. The carΒ is a construction vehicle with emergency lights and a sign identifying it isΒ used to guide motorists safely through a narrow work zone.

MoDOT is advising motorist to be on the lookout forΒ the pilot car, flagging operations and work zone signs. Motorists can expect long delays and are urged to avoid this section of Route 109 during these nighttime hours if possible. Motorists should use alternate routes.
