Moving Truck Overturns in Legends Parkway in Eureka

An overturned truck inside of The Legends subdivision on Legends Parkway in Eureka on Wednesday evening caught a bit of attention, after the trucks' contents spilled out onto the road. The moving truck was being driven by employees working for Two Men and a Truck moving company. Both employees had seat belts on, according to Eureka Police Department officer Michael Tapp, and neither were injured.

Tapp said the accident occurred at approximately 4:45 p.m. He said the driver expressed he was moving at the speed limit, however the full truckload appeared to become too top-heavy when he took the sharp curve on the road.

Some Patch readers on the Eureka-Wildwood Patch Facebook reported the truck was uprighted, and shared when traffic was moving again. Tapp said Eureka-based Hyndrich Towing company used hydraulics to take care of that aspect.

Regarding what happens to the Eureka customers' property involved in the accident, Patch contacted a representative of the moving company on Thursday who said they are still working through the details involved and how to proceed.

An online contractual option offered by Two Men and a Truck is full-replacement value coverage, which is the amount of money to purchase a new replacement for a damaged item regardless of the age of the item. The company states most valuation policies require the entire load be covered, not just specific items.
