Depression-Era Bridge in Wildwood on Track to be Replaced
The city has approved spending more than $200,000 on architectural design services for the replacement of two bridges, one which dates back to 1935.
The road may look new on theΒ Fox Creek Road bridge, foundΒ just south of the street'sΒ intersection with Route 100, but the structure underneath dates back to the 1930s.Β
It's one of two bridges the city of Wildwood will soon be replacing. The second is located on Woods Road, where it passes over Hamilton Creek in the Rockwoods Reservation, and was originally built in 1960.Β
On Monday, the city council approved the funding for architectural design services for the project, which will alone cost $110,000 for Woods Road and $121,000 for Fox Creek.Β
