Rockwood Administrator Trades Books for Barbecue This Weekend
One Rockwood School District leader in Eureka has another skill unrelated to his educational talents. Stop by the Smoking Daves BBQ booth this Saturday and Sunday during the annual BBQ Bash in Wildwood to see him in action!

Matt Dieckhaus, coordinator for Eureka-based Individualized Learning Center Alternative High School within the Rockwood School District, will be among the 100-plus barbeque competitors grilling up food at the 8th annual St. Louis Home Fires BBQ Bash held this coming weekend.Β
Representing Smoking Daveβs BBQ, Dieckhaus and his business partner, Wildwood resident Dave Burchardt, will compete in eight categories, including brisket, ribs, pork, pork steak, dessert, chili, chicken and the chefβs choice.Β
Dieckhaus and Burchardt have been friends since kindergarten.
