Rockwood 'On Track' for Highest Accreditation Level After Missouri Performance Report
Says the superintendent: "We will make every effort to improve our schools to ensure we help all students learn and grow."

The Rockwood School District scored aΒ 92.9 percent overall score on the Annual Performance Report (APR) released by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education last week β a new measure of district performance first used this year.
In a news release from the district, interim Rockwood superintendent Terry Adams said the report had helped identifyΒ key areas for improvement and that "we will make every effort to improve our schools to ensure we help all students learn and grow."
Rockwood officials said the report noted strengths, such asΒ its No. 6 ranking amongΒ 23 school districts in St. Louis County, and a ranking ofΒ 16thΒ overall among Missouriβs 560 reported districts.Β The report said student performance on state assessmentsΒ "meets or exceeds the state standard."
Improvement areas, according to the report, is specifically in growth in student performance over time. The district's statement said, "In Rockwood, our focus continues to be on ensuring that every student is making progress and reaching higher levels ofΒ achievement."

Brentwood was the only district in the St. LouisΒ area to rate a perfectΒ 100 in a new statewide systemΒ released last weekΒ by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.Β
Many St. Louis districts, which for years have touted a perfect 14 on the old system, are seeing greater distinction among schoolsβ scores.
The newΒ Annual Performance Report (APR) consists of 140 points spread over five main categories: academic achievement (56 points), subgroup achievement (14 points), college and career readiness (30 points), attendance (10 points), and graduation rate (30 points).Β

A 100 is the perfect score, and only a handful of schools statewide currently achieve it. Other districts that came close: Lindbergh, 99.3; Kirkwood, 98.2; Clayton, 98.9; Parkway 99.6.
