Rockwood Considers Change in Awarding Construction Contracts In Response to State Audit
Also: How to realign the district's spending after the failure of Proposition S?

The Rockwood School Board will meet tonight at 7 p.m. following a closed session at 6 p.m. at the Crestview Middle School at 16025 Clayton Road in Ellisville. Here's a preview of some the items on the board's agenda.
- An update on the action plan formulated by the district as a result of the state audit will be presented. It will include proposed changes to the several district policies, including those governing the selection of a construction manager and the awarding of construction contracts.
- The board will continue its discussion on realigning the 2014 budget after the failure of the $38 million bond Prop S. Its members will receive a presentation from the staff with recommendations on which projects and expenditures have been identified as most critical. The presentation, currently available online, anticipates a deficit of around $5 million. Β
- New board member Darby Jo Arakelian will take the oath of office and be officially sworn in. Arakelian was appointed last week to fill a seat on the board left vacant by the resignation of Steve Smith. His term expires April 2014. Β
