FW Warehousing to Reopen 543,000 Square-Foot Building in Fenton
A Sauget, IL company is reopening an old Chrylser warehouse. Almost 60 new hires are expected.
FW Warehousing, of Sauget, IL, is opening a 543,000 square foot warehouse in Fenton. Itβs one of the warehouses left over from the Chrysler plant, but according to FW president and CEO, Mark Cusumano, itβs beautiful.
βItβs been vacant ever since they shut down the Chrysler plant,β he said. βItβs huge. Itβs beautiful; brand new. Itβs a 10-year-old building.β The warehouse is at 2119 Hitzert Court, in Fenton.
Cusumano said they only had to cut down weeds and clean the inside. βWe are moving people in as we speak,β he said.

Currently four employees work there, and Cusumano said they plan to have 60 employees there in 12 months. The new hires will be for warehouse and customer service positions.
The first customer of the space is an undisclosed global manufacturer based in Fenton, according to Cusumano, which will use about 50,000 square feet of the space. Heβs optimistic about filling the rest of the warehouse.

βWe feel that the market there in Fenton is under-served with third-party distributing companies,β he said. βWe feel we can service all the different local manufacturers and distributors that need outsourced distribution.β
Melissa Appel has been named facility manager for the new distribution center. She previously served as the inventory control manager for FW Warehousing.
