Romney overcame a significant early deficit to Santorum in polling, even though he never set foot in the state until Friday. Romney now leads polling, 39 percent to 31 percent over Santorum.
"Combined spending by the Romney campaign and Restore Our Future, a pro-Romney βsuper political-action committee,β totaled about $2 million," the Christian Science Monitor reported. "By contrast, Santorumβs campaign had spent less than $100,000 by last Sunday, while a super PAC backing Santorum, had spent about $300,000."
