An optional Clinical Ladder Program formally launched on Jan. 20 and is designed to support professional growth and recognition of eligible SSM Health nurses in the acute, ambulatory and post-acute settings. Nurses who complete a level within the clinical ladder will receive an achievement bonus and have access to a professional development stipend the following year.

“Something that’s unique about our program is that it will allow any direct care nurse, from LPN on up, to advance,” said Amber Wood, SSM Health Vice President of Clinical Education & Clinical Placements. “It’s also different in that this is not limited to nurses who work in our hospitals. Direct care nurses who work in all care settings—acute, ambulatory and post-acute – are eligible.”
