Builders Back County Library Tax Levy
If approved in November, the St. Louis County ballot item would fund upgrades at various library locations, including the Florissant Valley branch.
A November tax levy that would fund numerous upgrades at St. Louis County Library branches is getting thousands of dollars in support from building companies.
The committee Citizens for Our Library and Our Community supports the six-cent increase. In July, it reported receiving contributions totaling $50,100 from April 16 through June 30, a document filed with the Missouri Ethics Commission states.

The library system includes the  in Florissant. A earlier this year recommends that the front entrance be relocated for easier access as well as a renovation and reorganization of the building.
Contributors to the tax-levy committee included Chesterfield-based ($5,000), St. Louis-based Tesson Roofing & Exteriors ($5,000) and Rock Island, IL-based engineering consultants KJWW ($5,000).
Meanwhile, the committee spent more than $43,000, primarily on campaign and fundraising consultants. Clayton-based Sequel is the campaign consultant, while St. Louis-based Majority Strategies is the fundraising consultant.
