Florissant Area Students Receive UMSL Dean's Award

Five Ferguson-Florissant School District (FFSD) students, and one Hazelwood School District (HSD) student were recently honored for their creativity.

The University of St. Louis (UMSL) College of Fine Arts and Communications awarded Steven Hale and Jamel White of McCluer South-Berkeley, Merasha Kisart and Ben Schultz of McCluer North, Destiney Speech of McCluer; and Rachel Morgan of Hazelwood Central with the Dean’s Award for Creative Achievement in the Arts.

The award includes a $1,000 UMSL scholarship, and recognizes high school students in the visual and performing arts who display outstanding talent, leadership, and responsibility in one or more high school arts programs. 

On September 24th on the campus of University of Missouri-St. Louis Rachel Morgan was presented a Dean’s Award. This award is given to outstanding juniors in high school that have exhibited outstanding achievements in fine arts (music, theatre, dance, drama or visual art). Rachel received a $1000 scholarship to UMSL and tickets to an upcoming production at the Touhill Performing Arts Center. I am attaching a picture of Rachel Morgan, Rev.
