Florissant Man Wins $100,000; To Give Fiancé Dream Wedding

Here is a look at five things to know about Andre Chamberlain's Missouri Lottery win. Maybe you'll be the next winner.

Florissant resident Andre Chamberlain, 40,  is $100,000 richer. 

He bought a winning Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket at the Schnucks grocery store, located at 74 Grandview Plaza Shopping Center.

Here are 5 things to know about Chamberlain's win:

  1. Chamberlain held on to the ticket for more than week before claiming his winnings. He said he hid the winning ticket under some glasses in his kitchen cabinet until he could make the trip.
  2. His first call was to his fiancée, Sarah.
  3. He isn't an avid lottery player: Chamberlain said he plays Scratchers occasionally and likes to play his favorite Pick 3 numbers on a regular basis.
  4. Spend wisely: Chamberlain said this was his first big win. He said he plans to pay some bills and save most of it for their wedding.
  5. This was the last top price in the “Powerball/Mega Millions.” It is a $5 game that officially began May 20.
