Florissant Teens Compete in Talent Showcase
Twenty-one Florissant students signed up for the St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Competition.
High school students from Florissant will compete this weekend in the St. Louis Teen Talent Showcase Competition to earn thousands of dollars in scholarships.
Fourteen students from and high schools and seven teens homeschooled in Florissant have signed up to be part of the 119 acts in the competition:
- Darrell Cooper, lyrical rap artist
- Kevin Hamilton, dancer
- Tinisha Watson, singer
- John Roberts, dancer
- Keyeon Pitts, poetry interpreter
- Johnyshea Taylor, singer
- Kelly Wilson, actress
- Terrance Duff, Glennetta Brookfield, Cortez Burnett, Kyle Dumas and K’yana Johnson as “inFamous,” rappers, dancers and singers
- Anissa Quilling, musical theater
- Bronte Walker, singer, dancer, actor and musician
- Julia Martin, dancer
- Anna Martin, singer
- Ethan Edwards, clarinetist
- Michelle Biernbaum, pianist
- Nick Simon, singer
- Sam Hotchkiss, musician
- Kellin Quinn, juggler
The preliminary rounds on March 10 and 11 will narrow the field down to about 30 acts. The final 12 will perform at The Fabulous Fox Theater on April 27.

The first, second and third place winners earn $7,000, $5,000 or $3,000 in scholarships, respectively. Other universities and organizations, such as or The Muny, are also offering scholarships and prizes.
