Updated: Suspect Charged in Shooting Death of North County Man

A North County man has been charged with shooting Paul Moore to death on Sunday in Berkeley. Moore went to a QuikTrip in Bel Ridge for help, but died at an area hospital Sunday.

Jerrin Brown, 32, of the 900 block of Sprinters Row Drive in unincorporated North County near Old Halls Ferry Road and Vaile Avenue, was charged Monday morning with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Moore was shot in the 9300 block of Koenig Circle in Berkeley. He lived in the 6900 block of Lake Valley Drive in North County near Spanish Lake.

Police have a second suspect in custody, but no charges have been filed against that person.

St. Louis County Police reported that Brown arrived at the 9300 block of Koenig Circle as a rear passenger in a car with three other people. One passenger got out of the car
while the others, including Moore, waited inside.

Police said Brown approached the vehicle and shot Moore twice. The driver quickly drove away from the scene until he saw several police officers at the QuikTrip at Natural Bridge and I-170, two blocks away. He pulled over for assistance, but Moore died at an area hospital a short time later.

According to a court document, Brown told two people he shot Moore and told one of them where the handgun was located. Police have recovered the firearm along with gloves and face mask.

Brown is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $250,000, cash only.

Two suspects are in custody in the shooting death of a North County man on Sunday, according to a St. Louis County Police news release.

Police said the victim, Paul Moore, 20, of the 6900 block of Lake Valley Drive in North County just west of Spanish Lake, sought help at the QuikTrip gas station in Bel Ridge on Natural Bridge Road at Interstate 170.

Moore died later at the hospital.

St. Louis County Police said a homicide investigation by the department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit revealed the shooting occurred in the 9300 block of Koenig Circle in Berkeley.
