Behlmann Buick GMC Sold, Now Gateway Buick GMC

After 41 years of selling cars in North County, Behlmann Buick GMC has been sold.

The auto dealer now goes by Gateway Buick GMC. The sale was complete on June 1, and on its Facebook page, the dealership says the name is the only thing that has changed.

"Same people. New name," a post on the page reads after someone asked about the change.

The company sent out an email blast Wednesday informing patrons of the change.

"It is with great pleasure to inform you that we, Behlmann Buick GMC, are changing our business name to Gateway Buick GMC.  This name change officially took effect on May 23, 2013.  We are still located at the same "can't miss" corner of I-270 and McDonnell Blvd.  The Behlmann family has built a proud nationally recognized dealership.  We are committed to strive for the same excellent service and strong community involvement that Mr. Behlmann has been known for through the years."

So what will be new at the dealership? According to the email blast there are going to be some renovations,

" We are also excited to announce that our dealership is getting a new facelift to the exterior and interior of our building and lot this summer," it reads. "Our new improvements will provide an inviting warm comfortable environment for you to browse our showroom floor."

The company said the name change doesn't mean anything when it comes to how the dealership operates.

"Rest assured that despite the name change, be guaranteed that our cars and services which you have loyally supported since our opening in 1972, will be available with improvements to continue to earn your business."
