Blood Needed: Donate Friday, Saturday at St. Louis Outlet Mall

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is teaming up with the mall in an effort to boost local blood supplies with a two day drive starting Friday, Aug. 2.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center and St. Louis Outlet Mall will host a blood drive to boost blood supplies locally. The blood center said donations slow during the summer months; even though it only takes one trauma accident to wipe out an area's blood supply.

Here are 5 things to know about this weekend's Blood Dive:
  1. All presenting donors will receive a coupon for free appetizer for Longhorn Steakhouse.  
  2. Those interested in donating are asked to eat well, hydrate and bring a photo ID before coming to the event.
  3. It will take place Friday, Aug. 2 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  4. Donors must have a blood donor card or driver’s license, or two other forms of identification
  5. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.
