Hazelwood City Council To Approve $220 Million Warehouse Project
A new development project would turn farmland south of the Missouri River into a 3 million-square-foot industrial warehouse.

HAZELWOOD, MO — Last week, the Hazelwood City Council passed a resolution clearing the way for a $220 million, 300-acre development project near the St. Louis Outlet Mall. NorthPoint Development, the company managing the project, hopes to build a 3 million-square-foot industrial warehouse on what is currently farmland south of the Missouri River. The warehouse would provide space for online retailers such as Amazon and others, NorthPoint said.
The city is considering property and sales tax breaks to support the multimillion-dollar construction over the next two decades. The deal is not yet final and negotiations will continue at the next council meeting scheduled for Dec. 20, where NorthPoint is expected to present information about the project.
