Hazelwood Crime: Thieves Breaks Into Hazelwood West Early Childhood Center

Tools and gloves used during the crime were found near the scene. HPD supplied the information in Thursday's crime report. Arrests or charges listed don't indicate conviction.

Here are a few of the crimes that occurred March 19 and March 20 in the City of Hazelwood. Hazelwood Patch attained the accounts from the Hazelwood Police Department.

March 19

Attempted Second-Degree Burglary: A person attempted to kick in the front door of an apartment in the 400 block of Elm Grove Lane. The attempt was unsuccessful but the door frame and door were damaged.

Property Damage/Stealing: A vehicle door lock was damaged and its stereo was stolen in the 7300 block of N. Hanley Road.

Identity Theft: A woman in the 8700 block of Sieloff reported her debit card as being used with the purchase originating in Illinois. She was in possession of her debit card at the time of the purchase.

Property Damage/Stealing: A vehicle window was broken and an iPad and cell phone were stolen from inside at St. Louis Outlet Mall.

March 20

Domestic Assault: A man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend in the 6400 block of Ken Drive.

Third-Degree Domestic Assault: A man assaulted his girlfriend in the 5000 block of Villa Maria and took the family vehicle.

Drug Arrest: A person was arrested for having marijuana on them during a traffic stop in Village Square Shopping Center.

Second-Degree Burglary: A person broke into the Hazelwood West Early Childhood Center by entering through a boarded window. Burglary tools and gloves were found near the scene.
