Letter to the Editor: The Importance Of Helping Your Neighbor
One reader reflects on the importance of community following the Good Friday Storms.

Hi Candace:
I was just reading the Patch article about volunteering or fund raisers for the tornado victims. The students at Russell Elementary are having a hat day today where each student can bring in $1.00 to wear a hat and the money will be donated to the tornado victims. Â

My children and I live in Ferguson down the street from the church that lost its roof last Friday. The damage around here is incredible. It will never look the same. We were very fortunate that we only lost power. Many of our neighbors and friends lost so much more. Â
I made a small photo book for each of my children showing the damage and they took them to school to show their classes. This will be something that they will always remember, as will I. In my 42 years, I have never experienced anything even close. Â

The students at BTC (Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic School~ caddy-corner from the church that lost the roof)Â in Ferguson made sandwiches today to feed many of the volunteers that will be in the area helping with the aftermath this weekend.Â
Thank You,
Michele Bauer
