Man Stole $7,000 in Jewelry in Hazelwood Home Burglary, Police Say

Hazelwood Police said a witness provided a description of Craig Campbell and his license plate number.

A man stole more than $7,000 in jewelry from a home in Hazelwood Monday, police said.

Craig S. Campbell, 31, of the 4000 block of Jarvis Road in Hillsboro, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary and felony stealing.

Hazelwood Police said Campbell entered a home in the first block of Dawn Ridge Drive between 11 a.m. and 5:31 p.m. Monday and stole jewelry.

Police said a witness provided a description of the burglar and a license plate number of the car used in the burglary. The license plate is registered to Campbell.

Some jewelry was recovered from a dumpster. Campbell told police he sold most of the remaining jewelry to a gold buyer.

Bail was set at $25,000 for Campbell.
