Oprah Show Viewers Gifted Her 'Ultimate Favorite Things' at Hazelwood Bommarito VW
Three individuals, who were among 275 audience members of The Oprah Winfrey Show's "Ultimate Favorite Things" episode, picked up their free, 2.5-liter 2012 Volkswagen Beetle.
It was a sad day for every Oprah fan when the show went into retirement in early spring of this year.
But for three area residents, the show ending was bittersweet. During last year’s final “Ultimate Favorite Things” episode on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Winfrey gave all 275 people in her audience a free, 2.5-liter 2012 Volkswagen Beetle.
Last week the three local winners had the opportunity to pick them up at , courtesy of Winfrey, who paid for the cars and the taxes that come with.

"This is one powerful, sophisticated, sexy Beetle," Oprah said on her website. "All of you in this audience will be the first people in the world to own one when it makes its debut next year!"
Car recipients had to wait until now to claim the car because the model Beetle Winfrey gave away is the redesigned VW Beetele. The protoype was not even revealed until May of this year. Oprah could only give the audience a sneak peek of the silhouette of the car.
The 2.5-liter Beetle has a starting MSRP of $18,995 plus destination fees.
