Retired HSD Administrator Takes a Job in Alton, Ill. Schools

The Alton Telegraph is reporting in a one-issue, special school board meeting last week, Steve Sandbothe, was hired as interim principal at Alton Middle School for the 2013-2014 school year, effective July 1.

“He has a wealth of experience as a middle school teacher and principal,” Kristie Baumgartner, assistant superintendent at the Alton School District, told The Livertine.

Sandbothe retired this month as assistant superintendent for school accountability in the Hazelwood School District.

Sandbothe also was associate principal at Hazelwood West High School and Hazelwood West Middle School for three years before being named the head principal at West Middle School in 2001, according to HSD.
