All Clear, National Weather Service Says
National Weather Service lifted a tornado watch for Kirkwood and Webster Groves, and surrounding areas.
9pm: Tornado watch lifted.
8:26pm: National Weather Service lifts toranado warning for Kirkwood.
8:18pm: Tornado warning lifted for Webster Groves. Warning still in effect for Kirkwood until 8:30pm. Weather service says storm that prompted warning has weakened and moved out of area.

8:08pm: Tornado on ground in Mehlville area, spotters say, according to KPLR 11.
7:30pm: Take cover sirens were heard in St. Louis County about 7:30pm. Golf-ball sized hail in Kirkwood (see picture).

7:25pm: A tornado warning went into effect, declared by the National Weather Service, for Webster Groves and Kirkwood.
Taking cover is recommended now. Winds in excess of 65mph were reported in Franklin County.
High winds passed north of St. Louis around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, crossed the Mississippi and moved into parts of Illinois by 5:30 p.m., according to The Weather Channel.
Severe thunderstorm warnings for the St. Louis area came and went all day, into evening, storms that could include more hailβtennis ball- and softball-sized.
Officials are keeping an eye on more fronts and winds moving east from Texas, and points west of the St. Louis area.
Tornado winds did touch down in Bowling Green, MO, according to The Weather Channel.
5:40 p.m.: Winds at the St. Louis arch were gusting up to 25mph, officials said.
6 p.m.: Winds Β headed toward St. Louis at 65mph.
