Kirkwood, Webster Cancer Survivors Receive Scholarships

Jenna Jackson, of Kirkwood, and Andrew Crowley, of Webster Groves, will each receive up to a $1,000 tuition grant from the American Cancer Society's Childhood Cancer Survivor College Scholarship Program to be used for the upcoming school year, according to a statement released by the American Cancer Society Tuesday.Β 

Scholarships are granted to individuals who are defeating cancer who were diagnosed before 21. Applicants must be under 25 when they apply.

One hundred youth cancer survivors were awarded the scholarship within the six state High Plains Division of Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas and Hawaii. Recipients are from 82 different cities and scholarships total $50,000 that comes from Society fundraising activities, such as Relay For Life events (see attached picture).
