AT&T Cell Towers Get Data Boost
Kirkwood customers are expected to experience better mobile broadband coverage.

Recent improvements to cell towers in the St. Louis area should mean better mobile broadband coverage and fewer dropped calls for AT&T customers in Kirkwood.
Late last month, the company finished adding new layers of frequency, known as βcarriers,β to local cell sites, which increases mobile broadband capacity across AT&Tβs network. The enhancements are expected to improve connectivity and service, the company says in a statement.
AT&T spokeswoman, Katie Nagus, compared the improvements to adding lanes to a freeway.

βMore voice and data traffic can go through the cell sites at the same time, so more people can be doing more things on the network at the same time,β Nagus said.
Improvements should mean fewer dropped calls and error messages as cell towers now have a greater capacity to handle data, Nagus added.
