Broad Daylight Burglary, Multiple Vehicle Thefts in Kirkwood

Monday, May 9
- At 8:54 a.m., officers arrested an adult female for stealing in the 800 block of West Essex Avenue. She was discovered to have stolen money from lockers of two individuals at Kirkwood High School.Β Β

- At 7:18 p.m., officers received a report of a possible intoxicated driver traveling eastbound on Dougherty Ferry Road from Des Peres Avenue. Officers located the vehicle being driven by an adult female near the intersection of Chopin Drive and Dougherty Ferry Road. She was arrested for driving with a revoked driverβs license and possession of drug paraphernalia.Β
Wednesday, May 11
- At 6:40 p.m., a resident of the 500 block of Mistletoe Lane reported a residential burglary. Electronics were stolen from the residence sometime during the day. Detectives along with officers recovered all of the stolen property at a residence in Kirkwood. The case was referred to the St. Louis Family Courts for review.
5 Vehicle Thefts, Thursday, May 12 - Sunday, May 15

Beginning on Thursday at 9:11 a.m., police were summoned to five separate thefts from vehicles.
- The first occurred at a business in the 11700 block Cragwold Drive. The victim reported a window broken on her vehicle and her purse stolen.
- The second was at a residence in the 1200 block of Woodgate Drive. A GPS and jacket were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
- The third was reported on Friday at 4:50 p.m. An iPod was stolen from an unlocked vehicle sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
- The fourth was reported at 2:41 p.m. on Saturday. A purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked near the intersection of Holmes and Leffingwell Avenues.
- The fifth was reported Sunday at 3:30 p.m. An employee of a business in the 400 block of North Kirkwood Road reported her purse and electronics stolen from her vehicle. Citizens are reminded to secure their vehicle and to not leave valuables in plain sight where they might be seen by others.Β
Shoplifting, Monday, May 9 - Sunday, May 15
- Monday through Sunday, Kirkwood Police arrested four females and five males for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. One of the males stole over $500 worth of merchandise and was charged with felony stealing.Β Another was found to have at least four prior theft-related convictions and was also charged with a felony. Both of those cases were referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorneyβs Office for review. All incidents occurred at retail businesses in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.
