The Kirkwood Human Rights Commission will once again hold an Essay Contest for high school juniors in public, private, and home schools, located within the City limits of Kirkwood R7 School District.

Essay Rules: The essay should be 500 to 750 words in length, typed, double-spaced, in 12-font size, with one-inch margins. The pages should be numbered, and the author’s name should appear at the top of each page. The author’s name, address, telephone number, age, and high school should be on the first page.

Judging Criteria: Submit:  Essays can be submitted in hard copy or by email. If by email, submissions will only be accepted as an attachment. Do not send in the body of the email or as a Cloud-based document. Hard copies can be submitted by mail or in person to Kim Sansegraw, City of Kirkwood Administration Department, 139 S. Kirkwood Road, 63122. Emails should be sent to: sansegkr@kirkwoodmo.org. Deadline: All essays must be received no later than 4:00 p.m., on Friday February 18, 2022.

Award Levels: First Place: $100 Second Place: $75 Third Place: $50 Fourth Place: $25
