Crime Log: Police Report Vehicle Break-ins, Make DUI Arrests
The following arrest information was supplied by the Kirkwood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The blotter for August 8 through August 14.
Monday, August 8
- At 11:38 a.m., police were notified of a vehicle break-in in the 700 block of South Holmes Avenue. One vehicle had a window broken out with shoes and a wallet containing cash stolen. The thief also attempted to break out a window on a second vehicle but was unsuccessful.Β Β

- At 2:01 a.m., officers investigated a suspicious person in the area of Big Bend Road and Interstate 44. The adult male was found to be the suspect in a theft that occurred earlier that evening at a convenience mart in Crestwood. The man was turned over to Crestwood Police.Β Β
Wednesday, August 10
- At 5:13 p.m., a theft from a vehicle was reported to police in the 10300 block of Manchester Road. Prescription medication and change were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.Β

- At 12:51 a.m., officers stopped a motorist for a traffic violation near the intersection of North Kirkwood Road and Huntleigh Drive. The driver, an adult male, was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested.Β Β
- At 5:04 p.m., a resident from the 400 block of North Harrison Avenue notified police of solicitors in the area. Officers located an adult male from Florida who was soliciting for magazines. He did not have a solicitorβs license and was arrested.
Saturday, August 13
- At 10:19 a.m., employees of a business in the 800 block of South Fillmore Avenue notified police of a burglary. A metal saw was stolen from inside the business sometime during the previous night.
- At 9:58 p.m., police were notified of a stolen vehicle from the 100 block of South Kirkwood Road. The owner reported last seeing his vehicle parked in a covered parking garage when he left to visit a nearby business.Β Β
Sunday, August 14
- At 1:26 a.m., an officer on patrol discovered a vehicle near the intersection of West Adams Avenue and Sugar Creek Road that appeared to have been involved in a motor vehicle accident.Β Additional officers located two parked vehicles, one in the 200 block and one in the 400 block of West Washington Avenue that had been struck. The driver, an adult male, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
- At 4:52 p.m., officers were summoned to the 700 block of South Holmes Avenue for a report of a vehicle break-in. A window was broken out of a vehicle and a purse containing credit cards and cash was stolen. Citizens are reminded to conceal items of value if they must be left in an unattended vehicle.Β
Shoplifting, Aug. 8-14
- During the week, Kirkwood police arrested two adult females for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. Both offenses occurred at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road.
