Kirkwood High School Honors African American Achievement

More than 100 students were honored Wednesday for their academic performance.

More than 100 students were honored Wednesday for their academic performance as part of the school's annual African American Achievement Celebration.

African American students who achieved a 3.0 or higher GPA during the first semester were recognized by the school's administration and PTO, according to the school's website.

The ceremony is a joint venture between the PTO and the school's Black Achievement and Cultural Club, which gives all students the chance to learn more about black culture and the role of black people in society.
