Kirkwood Police Report Thefts, Vehicle Break-Ins

Monday, April 11

  • At 6:45 a.m., officers were called to a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road for a report of vehicle break-ins. A total of three vehicles were broken into during the overnight hours. Electronics were stolen from the vehicles.
  • At 7:08 a.m., police responded to a business in the 800 block of South Fillmore Avenue for a property damage report. Eight vehicles belonging to the business had windows broken sometime during the previous weekend.

  • At 1:49 p.m., police were summoned to a business in the 10200 block of Manchester Road for a property damage report. At least 15 new vehicles at the business were scratched by an object by unknown persons. The investigation continues.

Wendesday, April 13

  • At 12:22 a.m., police stopped a motorist for a traffic violation near the intersection of Big Bend Road and Charmers Court. The driver, an adult male, was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.Β  Since he had at least one prior alcohol related conviction, the case was referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.Β 
  • At 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance at a restaurant in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. As a result one adult male was arrested for disorderly conduct and another was arrested due to having at least ten outstanding warrants through both Kirkwood and other neighboring police municipalities.Β 
  • At 11:22 p.m., officers received a report of a subject throwing beer cans from a vehicle in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. Officers stopped the vehicle and discovered the driver, an adult male, was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested. Since the male had at least three prior alcohol-related traffic convictions his case was referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.Β

  • Detectives arrested an adult male responsible for writing fiveΒ insufficient funds checks to a local business.Β The checks were written from Nov. 10 through Nov. 23, 2010, to a business in the 10400 block of Manchester Road.Β  The cases were referred to municipal court.
  • At 5:47 p.m., officers were notified of a theft at a business in the 10300 block of Manchester Road. A patron of the business had jewelry stolen from an unlocked locker.

Monday, April 11 - Sunday, April 17

  • Kirkwood Police arrested three adult males for shoplifting merchandise from area businesses. Two of the males were charged with felony stealing. Kirkwood Police also arrested six adult females for stealing. One of those females was charged with felony stealing. Businesses affected by the thefts were located in the 1000 and 1200 blocks of South Kirkwood Road.Β Β 

Tuesday, April 19

  • At 6:19 p.m., police were called to a residence in the 500 block of South Fillmore Avenue for a disturbance. A 19-year-old man was found to have warrants from a neighboring police department and was arrested.

Thursday, April 21

  • An employee of a group home in the 200 block of West Washington Avenue was arrested for stealing jewelry from a resident after a month long investigation by detectives.Β 

Friday, April 22

  • At 7:43 a.m., police were called to a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road to check the welfare of a female reported to be unconscious in a car. The 35-year-old occupant of the car was okay but was in possession of narcotics and was arrested.

Saturday, April 23

  • At 3:11 a.m., police were called to the 2300 block of Timberview Road for a report of a theft from an automobile. The car’s owner found that someone stole one wheel and tire while the car was parked in the complex.

Sunday, April 24

  • At 1:40 a.m., police were called to the 2300 block of Timberview Road for several suspicious males who exited a parked car and were on the lot. Initially no one was located, but shortly after 2 a.m., an officer located a 19-year-old man and found him to be in possession of narcotics. He was arrested.
  • At 12:39 p.m., police were called to the 900 block of South Fillmore Avenue for a burglary. Someone entered a house for sale and attempted to steal a stove, but it was found to be still on the property.Β  Detectives are investigating.

Monday, April 18 - Sunday, April 24

  • During the week there were three adult females arrested for shoplifting from stores located in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. In addition, a 19-year-old female employee of a store in the 1000 block of South Kirkwood Road was arrested for stealing from her employer.
