Puppy Mill Pooch Is Ready for New Life

Mandy is a 4-year-old Maltese mix available for adoption through the St. Louis Senior Dog Project.

Mandy is a former puppy mill dog who lived in a cage for the first years of her life and received very little human interaction. Mandy has improved a lot since she first came into the care of the St. Louis Senior Dog Project, and she is doing her best to become a household companion.

Mandy does well with other dogs and would likely do well with other cats, however she is shy around new people and new situations due to the distrust she had of the humans taking care of her at the puppy mill. Mandy would love a home that understands her past and one that would provide a nurturing environment as she continues her transition from puppy mill dog to pet.

Mandy would do best in a quiet home or one with not too much activity. She would make a loving companion, and she is ready to leave her past behind and find a permanent home.
