Resident Attacked With Knife, Police Report

Sunday, March 6

• Kirkwood: At 9:23 a.m., a purse was reported stolen from a vehicle near the intersection of South Holmes and Leffingwell Avenues. The purse was located nearby by officers. An iPhone was stolen from the purse.

• Webster Groves: Someone used spray paint to damage a fence, two vehicles and other property in the area of West Lockwood Avenue and Cherry. Racial slurs were written in some instances. There is no suspect description, but a vehicle described by a witness as a white older model sedan, possibly a Chevy, may have been used. Police are investigating.

Monday, March 7

• Kirkwood: At 3:08 p.m., officers were summoned to a residence in the 1000 block of Oakland Avenue in Oakland for a theft report. The residence reported a spoiler stolen from a vehicle parked at his residence sometime during the previous weekend.

Tuesday, March 8

• Kirkwood: At 8 a.m., police received a delayed report of a theft that occurred on Monday, March 7, near the 800 block of West Essex Avenue. A wallet was stolen from a vehicle. The wallet was located a few blocks away, minus cash and credit cards.
• Kirkwood: At 8:57 a.m., officers stopped a motorist for a traffic violation near the intersection of Pelican and Oakland Avenues in Oakland. The driver, an adult male, was found to be driving with a revoked driver's license and was arrested. He also had marijuana in his possession at the time of his arrest. 

Wednesday, March 9 

• Kirkwood: At 9:58 a.m., police responded to a report of fraud at a business in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. An employee reported a large purchase of flooring materials was made with a stolen credit card. Officers arrested three adult males trying to leave with several thousand dollars in merchandise.
• Kirkwood: At 5:53 p.m., an adult male was arrested for shoplifting at a retail store in the 1200 block of South Kirkwood Road. Employees observed him conceal merchandise under his clothing and attempt to leave the business without paying for the merchandise.
• Webster Groves: A victim reported that sometime between Friday, March 4, and Tuesday, March 7, someone damaged his/her rear yard privacy fence. Police are investigating the incident, which occurred in the 800 block of Holland Avenue.
• Webster Groves: A resident reported that someone apparently stole a check from his/her home. The incident, which occurred in the 100 block of Hammel Avenue, is under investigation.

Thursday, March 10

• Kirkwood: At 12:52 p.m., a resident from the 1000 block of Cedargate Drive reported a theft from her home. Sometime during the previous week, jewelry was stolen from inside of the residence. Detectives are investigating.

Friday, March 11

• Kirkwood: Detectives responded to the Ladue Police Department, where they interviewed an adult male in regards to a theft from a vehicle. The male was caught breaking into vehicles and subsequently found to have in his possession credit cards belonging to a resident in the 900 block of Curran Avenue. The resident thought the credit cards were stolen sometime during the previous week. The case will be referred to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.  Detectives continue to investigate his involvement into three other similar crimes during the same time span and reported in the same general area of Kirkwood.
• Webster Groves: While investigating a vehicle that was in Larson Park after hours, police located marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested and charged.
• Webster Groves: At about 6:30 p.m., during a fish fry at Mary Queen of Peace School, located in 600 block of West Lockwood Avenue, a 7-year-old female student and an 11-year-old male student were playing in front of the school when a white male subject driving a white Chevy Suburban with a CBC sticker on the rear window yelled, “Come here." The students ran into the school and the vehicle left the area.

Saturday, March 12

• Webster Groves: Two suspects, a 20 year old and a 21 year old, were seen placing a sign on the train tracks in the area of North Rockhill Road and the Union Pacific Crossing. The suspects also were throwing rocks at trains. Both were arrested and issued citations for Trespassing.
• Webster Groves: A victim reported that at approximately 5 a.m., he went outside to smoke when he was approached by a short stocky white male who asked for a cigarette. The victim told the suspect he did not have extras at which time the suspect attacked the victim with a knife. The suspect sustained superficial wounds during the fight and the suspect ran away. The incident occurred in the 100 block of East Lockwood Avenue.

Sunday, March 13

• Kirkwood: At 1:47 p.m., police were summoned to a business in the 11100 block of Manchester Road for a report of a theft of gasoline. The employee obtained a license plate from the vehicle as it left the area. The vehicle was stopped in Rock Hill a few minutes after the theft. The adult male driver was arrested for stealing.
