Update: Power Restored for Majority of Residents
By 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night, Ameren Missouri had restored power for the vast majority of its customers in Kirkwood and Webster Groves.

Violent winds took down several trees in Kirkwood and Webster Groves Monday afternoon, but fortunately, no injuries have been reported as the result of severe weather, according to Kirkwood and Webster Groves dispatchers.
Tuesday night, Ameren Missouri had restored power for the vast majority of its customers in Kirkwood and Webster Groves. At 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Ameren reported 70 customers to be without power in the Webster Groves zip code of 63119, and 12 customers to be without power in the Kirkwood zip code of 63122.

The number of those without power dropped by hundreds from Tuesday afternoon.
More than a thousand Ameren Missouri workers were in the field Tuesday to safely restore power to customers throughout the St. Louis Metro area, said Richard Mark, senior vice president of Ameren Missouri customer operations.

"We estimate that a majority of our customers will have power restored by late Tuesday night, despite approximately 50 broken utility poles and extensive equipment damage scattered across the region," Mark said.
Kirkwood dispatchers reported power outages among some Kirkwood Electric customers and said the public utility company is working to restore power to affected customers.
