Theft Tops Recent Crime in Kirkwood
Kirkwood police report thieves target computers and jewelry, plus pass a bad check in this latest edition of police blotter.

The following information was provided by the Kirkwood Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.Â
Monday, Jan. 28:
At 7:02 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of East Bodley Avenue reported cash and jewelry was stolen from a home sometime during the month of January.Â

Wednesday, Jan. 30:
At 6:25 a.m., officers responded to a property damage call in the 400 block of New York Street. A woman reported having her windshield broken out overnight.

Thursday, Jan. 31:
At 7:15 a.m., a resident from the 300 block of East Adams Avenue reported a theft. Police said a laptop computer and water density meter were stolen after two unlocked vehicles parked in the garage at the home were entered overnight.
Thursday, Jan. 31:
One person was arrested for writing a fraudulent check. At 3:44 p.m., Thursday, police were called about check fraud at a business in the 10900 block of Manchester Road. Investigators said a fraudulent check was cashed at the business. On Friday, Feb. 1, detectives arrested the suspect.Â
Thursday, Jan. 31:
At 11:52 p.m., officers responded to a car crash in the 100 block of West Jefferson Avenue. Authorities said the driver of one vehicle struck a parked car. The driver who struck the parked car was reportedly arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Â
