St. Louis County Library is pleased to announce that Stephen C. Sachs has been appointed to the library’s Board of Trustees. The appointment was made by County Executive Charlie Dooley and the members of the St. Louis County Council, as proscribed by law. Sachs began serving on May 1.
Sachs is the co-president of Sachs Properties, a position he has held since the death of his father, Louis Sachs, in 2011. Sachs earned a master’s degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He is involved in several civic organizations including Chesterfield Arts, Stages St. Louis and Progress 64 West.
Sachs continues a tradition of dedication to the library and to literacy exemplified by his late father and grandfather. Louis Sachs made multiple generous donations to St. Louis County Library, including land whereupon the Samuel C. Sachs Branch opened in 2002. A Center for Family History is being planned for another tract in Chesterfield donated by Louis Sachs.
