Breast Cancer Survivors Treated to Free Makeovers During Susan G. Komen Race Week
Vakkar Salon in Ladue opens up their hearts to the community.
David Johnston has owned Vakkar Salon in Ladue for two years. And for two years, the owner at 9912 Clayton Rd. has offered free complete makeups for women surviving breast cancer.
"This is certainly one way for me to give back to the community," said the prideful owner. Normally, Mondays, the salon is closed for business. This week, the place was packed. All 24 slots on the schedule were filled with a waiting list for late callers.
He had some nice help. Jody Grizzel, senior independent sales director and Joanna Wende, independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics were there to lend a hand. They did the cosmetic make up for the women who received complete care including facials, hand treatment, hair and makeover at absolutely no charge.
