Scenic and safe 11-mile ride brings together community and business owners in Frontenac & Town and Country

Competitive and casual cyclists all over the St. Louis area are making plans now to ride in the Inaugural Clayton Road Classic on Saturday, Oct. 22 hosted by the Town & Country-Frontenac Chamber of Commerce. This scenic 11-mile ride down Clayton Road offers the community the chance to enjoy fall weather, get some great exercise and meet local business owners.

Clayton Road, with its rolling hills, few stop lights and bike lane, is well-known to area cyclists as an ideal route. The Clayton Road Classic will begin at Plaza Frontenac at 9 a.m. with a police escorted ride, called a “Rolling Enclosure.” Cyclists will continue West on Clayton Road turning left at Woodsmill Road and through the roundabout.  Riders then return to Plaza Frontenac for a finish line celebration.

During the ride, everyone is invited to attend the Classic Community Festival located at Plaza Frontenac alongside Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.  The festival will include music, food, shopping and kids’ activities. Cheer stations will also be set up along the route to encourage riders of all abilities.

The Classic is open to anyone 16 years of age or older and any fitness level.  Helmets are required.  The first 200 participants who register before October 14 will be guaranteed a Dri-Fit Shirt, an Official Clayton Road Classic Stainless Steel Water Bottle and a Reusable Lunch Sack filled with sponsor goodies.
