Former Ladue Standout Jordan Hammerman MVP of Collegiate All Star Game in Texas

Hammerman came to Saint Louis U., hitting .438 at Forest Park Community College.

Saint Louis University Billiken baseball rising junior Jordan Hammerman, graduate of Ladue High School was named the MVP of the 2011 Texas Collegiate League All-Star Game.

Hammerman, who plays for the Brazos Valley Bombers, started the contest in the outfield, went 2-for-2 and scored the game's first run. He helped his South squad to a 7-4 victory over the North team in the game, which was played in Bryan, Texas.

Billiken teammate Damian Rivera (Miami, Fla. / Braddock High School) joined Hammerman on the South team. Rivera came out of the bullpen and retired all three batters he faced.

In the TCL, Hammerman ranks sixth with a .320 batting average. Rivera, a rising sophomore, has a 4-0 record, one save and a team-best 2.04 ERA for the Bombers.

One of his former coaches at Ladue Don Goble is not surprised. "I fully expected Jordan Hammerman to excel at the collegiate level, and he certainly followed through. The Ladue Baseball program is proud to have been a part of Jordan's development." said Goble.

Hammerman played four varsity seasons at Ladue. He ws an All-State selection his senior year, hitting .446 with a slugging percentager of .743. As a junior, he ranked among the area's leading hitters with a .535 average. He earned the Rams' Time Wolfe and Ryan Howard awards.
