Guys Get Serious: Prom Season is Right Now!

Imagine how good the guys can look, showered, shaved and all cleaned up and in a tuxedo?

Do you think a guy ever waited until the last 12 hours before a prom to rent a tuxedo?

It could have happened figures Ryan Schwomeyer, manager of Stallone's Formal Wear in Ladue. "We are in business to accommodate everyone. We take care of everyone," he said.

Candace and Phillip Stallone are third-generation owners of this well established formal wear chain of stores in St. Louis. Stores are in Ladue, Chesterfield, Maryland Heights, Sunset Hills and new in O'Fallon, MO.

Stallone's was founded as a tailor shop on Delmar, east of skinker avenue in 1899. Since then, young men from local schools Burroughs, MICDS, Ladue, Clayton, University City, Chaminade and others are being measured and tailored for their prom and graduation events.

The Burroughs men wear white tuxedos for their annual out-of-door graduation ceremonies.

"Sometimes the guys just have to wait until their date picks out a prom dress. They need something to match, not clash," said Schwomeyer.

Candace Stallone says sometimes the guys need help, pulling the whole outfit together. "We tell them how to tie the ties; put on the suspenders, put the whole outfit together," she said.

Stallone's is hardly limited to the high school crowd. Annually, the men of the community come in for their tux and tails for the annual Veiled Prophet Ball.

"We are popular because all of our stock is right here in St. Louis, and we can get to it right away," said Stallone.

Mostly, the males of this area will dress conservatively for prom. As always, black is the best seller.
