Heat Wave: The Obvious Story of the Week
St. Louis broils under intense heat wave reaching 110 degrees and higher.

This is the story of the week, and perhaps, the story of the year. St. Louis is scourched by an extreme dome of heat hoving over the entire Midwest. No sight is in relief.
Weather reporters have said it would be 106, then 108, now the National Weather Service is predicting a high of 109 for the weekend.
Highs of 108, 105, 102 and 103 are predicted in the coming days.

, here is some advice to beat the heat (as if anyone needs to be told to stay inside in air conditioning!)
- Stay in air conditioned areas as much as possible.
- Consume lots of water.
- Wear light-colored clothing outdoors.
- Avoid cotton clothing and opt for fabrics that allow your skin to breathe, better enabling it to cool off.
- If you need to run errands, do so early in the morning. 6 a.m. tends to be the coolest part of the day.
Also, be a shepherd. Check on loved ones, friends and family. If you know a senior citizen, be sure to call or stop by and ensure they are using air.
