John Burroughs School Holds Successful Dance Marathon

Students and staff at John Burroughs have long supported the efforts for some time to develop a school in Cambodia. Recently, more than 500 students in a school population of 600 took part in a festive evening to support the school.

The effort was directed by Sam Hefler and Isabelle Spellman, two star athletes at Burroughs and members of the Ladue-Frontenac Patch Teen Peer Panel.

The duo organized all kinds of crazy events to bring attention to their cause and to raise cash for the school. The event included a basketball knock out contest; duck-duck goose; a limbo contest; hourly dancing to Cotton Eye Joe;  dodgeball tournament; movies; pie eating contest; techno hour; potato sack races; student musical performqnces and the Doorway Rappers.

Students enjoyed events beyond belief. Margaret Bahe, biology teacher and yearbook sponsor took a whole host of pictures from this great evening.
