MVP Nominations in Order for Week No. 7

Lacrosse, soccer, track and field providing a boat load of nominees.

These are the MVP nominees for week No. 7. Names put into nomination the most will comprise the Wednesday ballot. Any athlete in the Ladue-Frontenac Patch may be nominated this this weekly award. Balloting begins Wednesday, and ends at 5 p.m. Thursday. The winner will be revealed Saturday.

  • Charlotte Martin, John Burroughs lacrosse.  Heading to Northwestern, Martin helped lead the 17-0 Bombers to the state title with 4 goals in the final game. She had 46 goals, 22 assists for 88 point this season.
  • Leanne Hurster, John Burroughs lacrosse. The junior had 7 goal in the title game over MICDS. She scored 42 goals, 34 assists for 76 points this season.
  • Elena Gresick, Ladue lacrosse. Headed to Johns Hopkins University for field hockey, she led the area in scoring with 108 goals; 34 assists for 142 points.
  • Alli Magaletta, St. Joseph’s Academy soccer. The Angels beat Nerinx Hall 1-0 for the district title. Magaletta leads a balanced attack with 8 goals, 6 assists for 22 points and 2 game winning goals.
  • Ezekiel Elliott, John Burroughs track & field. He is one of the leading 100 and 200 meter sprinters in the area; winning the 110 high hurdles and 300 meter hurdles in the sectional meet this weekend.
  • Amos Bartelsmeyer, MICDS track & field. Another superior running with top times in the 400, 800, 1600 meter runs and the 4 X 800 meter relay. Odds on favorite to go under 1:55.00 in the half mile and win the state title.
  • Haley Pryor, MICDS track & field. Won the sectional pole vault title at 11-0. Has a personal best of 11-3 and should win the state title before heading off to Rhodes College in Memphis.

All readers of Patch are eligible to nominate athletes for MVP recognition. This is just a suggested list to get started.
