Robin Carnahan Encourages Missourians to Participate in Presidential Primary
Local Election Officials Predict Nearly 23 Percent Turnout

Jefferson City, MO — Secretary of State Robin Carnahan is encouraging voters across the state of Missouri to participate in the February 7, 2012, Presidential Primary. Local election officials have estimated that nearly 23 percent of Missouri registered voters will take part as Missourians choose who they think is the best presidential nominee.
"Missourians have a chance to make their voices heard, and I hope they show the political party insiders that they want to have a say in this process by going to the polls," Carnahan said. “Anytime voters cast their ballots it has an impact.”
At least one of the major political parties has indicated they will use caucus results instead of the Presidential Primary results to choose a candidate. All polling places in the state will open on February 7th at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Any individuals in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to cast their vote.
